At Hales Corners Lutheran Church, the great Country Thunder FUNdraiser borders on being an annual service ministry.   Country Thunder USA is a huge outdoor music festival near Lake Geneva in July.  This is a rain or shine event.  Each year around 200 HCLC volunteers share fellowship while raising about $20,000 operating the parking lots, wristband gates, and food/beverage ticket sales.

There are numerous volunteer jobs for anyone 15 years of age and over.  Everyone can help.   Some volunteers park cars or direct the festival-goers, others manage the sale of tickets, wristbands or parking.  This year, the event begins on Wednesday July 16th, and runs through Saturday July 19th.

Volunteer shifts begin as early as 6AM and go as late as 2AM.   Some will participate for as little as 6-8 hours, others will work multiple shifts or even camp on the grounds for the duration of the event.  For more camping click on Safe-Haven Camp tab.

Camping in Our Safe-Haven Campground is free to volunteers but priority will be given to 4-day workers.

So…are you interested in participating?  You do not need to be a member of Hales Corners Lutheran Church to participate!  This is a great way to meet people.  This can be an effective way for parents and kids to work the same event and foster independent work ethics.  There is freedom, yet all of us work to support the common cause. Excellent training in responsibly and accountability.

This event does not appeal to everyone… BUT if your curiosity is peaked, contact us TODAY to find out more information.

We are planning ahead to expedite the scheduling process.  Scheduling slots are on a fist come, fist serve basis.
